It's come to my attention that EvolutionOz members may not realize that we offer full turbo rebuilding services for all EVO turbochargers both late and early. We carry a full range of upgrade and replacement parts in stock including big16G, 18G, 20G compressor wheels.
Competition thrust bearing upgrades and other special parts in stock and of course our popular VR4/EVO3-20G upgrade program.

the stock turbo has been matched by Mitsubishi very well to the 4G63 (not suprising I guess because they make the turbo as well smile.gif ), testing so far has shown little improvement over the stock turbo at power levels around 210-215wkW (DD numbers) however please realize this is about the typical max of a stock or mildly modified engine anyway.

If you have a stroker engine it's a different story because it needs the extra flow and can use it.

Our new TD06SL2 turbo will be ready for test soon after many weeks waiting for the right bits. Will try to get some data out to people as soon as I can but this will be more suited to stroker engines.

Do you any dyno sheets from your current setup?

Yes we do a version for the VR4/EVO1-3 Tenaga in Perth our WA dealer will be testing this soon.

Same question again, I have a VR4 14B turbo that I would like rebuilt, or do you just exchange? Either way I would like to know, also an indication of postage costs to/from Melbourne (3165) Cheers, Richard.

hey just after a price on a rebuild of a vr4 tdo5 with a new exhaust housing.. turbo looks fine with no shaft play/noise but would like whatever price you can give me

Hey mate i have a Evo6Tme and i am going down the road of a becoming a racecar.
I am looking at playing around with my turbo soon and would like to see if you offer a turbo that is designed to work with a turbo restrictor init?

There is a company in the UK who does this however it is extremely expensive and I think not really value for money.

what power do u reckon is capable with a 2.4l stroker with your GTpumps EVO9 20GLT turbo? im going 2.4l with head work and cams etc.. i own a oz tme and am contemplating which turbo to use. car going in for engine in a couple of weeks.

Around 450HP engine. I don't have any for outright sale at the moment you would have to supply an EVO9 turbo.

Hey mark, had my VI for only a few months, and have found a small hairline crack in the snail itself, it is audible too at certain revs. Had someone look at it and they think it happened before i got the car. Just wondering on what my options are, replace with stock or upgrade, repair, I'd like to upgrade but i am on a fairly limited budget??? The car is stock except for a cat back exhaust and air filter.

I have recently discovered my turbo (STD) has been sucking in some grit and consequently the turbine wheel has been worn down, I assume this will require a rebuild, could you pls let me know what options I have with this, thanks smile.gif

We have new wheels of course but also plenty of good used wheels, we should be able to get you going no problem.

is there any signs that you need to rebuild the turbo? like it not making a certain amount of boost? ect

Typical issues.
1) blowing smoke (worn seals, usually because of excessive bearing wear)
2) loud whistle noise (balance problem, could be damaged wheels)
In both these cases the turbo could still actually peform ok.

If the turbo is sick enough not to make correct boost, or enough boost and it's not a wastegate issue it's in a bad way and should be checked out ASAP. If it is left too long it may no be repairable.

i think my turbo might have problem. I can't make more than 1.1 bar of boost(on the road, makes 1.2 on the dyno) and i thought the vi turbo was good to 1.5bar with ease. I have a full tbe exhaust, power fc, walbro fuel pump, avc-r(which is on max duty cycle) , ralliart pipping kit plus a K&N pod filter..should i be able to hit 1.5bar? as from what i read and have heard i should...you think it could be a turbo problem? im pretty sure the wastegate is fine as it doesn't look rusted at all but could be wrong

Mine still makes 1.6 bar (80% duty with PROFEC B spec II) no trouble at all only noticed it because the piping was removed for work on the car :?

Maybe leaks or actuator passing gass through before it reaches the peek.

If you wanna see a bad actuator i have a vid of the shit stuck in mine when i got it replaced.

Eg....time?Amount of km?Depends if it has been driven hard??

Im reaching the 100,000km...and the car feels like its falling apart...
ie.....worn out sus...replaced 6 bush's...etc etc

If you see any smoke from the exhaust thats a sign for sure. As for mileage it depends on how much boost on about 12 psi they will go for a long time, on 1.5 bar.............

A simple inspection can be done to check for excessive play and oil leakage. If you have run high boost for the whole 100,000km it's worth checking it on your next service.

Just got my turbo back from Servicing. Thanks Mark, looks like a great job. Good service too (prompt, well packed etc). Adam's putting it in the weekend, so I should be in business soon..
