For those who may required it 100 Octane fuel is available from the Volume Plus service station at 148 Sunnyholt Road Blacktown. This is about 15mins drive from Eastern Creek Raceway.
I filled some jerry cans there this morning he said they have plenty in the tank.

I fill up there sometimes when im in the area.
For the sake of knowledge, as far as i know it has ethanol added to it rather then the old V Max or whatever it was that was just straight up 100 octane...

So, is this suitable for cars not tuned for ethanol type fuels ?

Should be fine, the old v power racing was about 5% ethanol to take it to 100ron I ran that back in the day on the gtr no problems at all.
I wonder how much ethanol is added on this though
Mark@GTPumps

It's 10% Ethanol.

Found this little bit of information, I've assumed it applies to JDM cars as well... Surely that can't be different.
http://www.mitsubishimotors.com.au/c...-fuels/ethanolIs it necessary to make changes to my Mitsubishi vehicle in order to use ethanol-blended fuels?
All Mitsubishi vehicles built since 1986 are fully compatible with up to 10% ethanol fuel in the mixture. If your car was built prior to 1986 or you are unsure of its age, please Contact Us before putting any fuel other than that recommended in your Owner Handbook into your vehicle.

Yanks have been running mixes up to E98 for ~3-4 years straight without many cases of side affects.
The one widely posted one of the sludge in the top of the injectors was tracked back to a station owner mixing his own stuff into the ethanol.

Bloke at the servo said no ethanol in his fuel.
Is this stuff the real deal 100RON ? Car felt more perky with normal 98RON BP fuel.

I used it at the nats and my tuner said there was something wrong with it

Sure it's 100 RON. Lots of different guys work behind the counter most don't have a clue.
Went through all this with the owner and United fuels state manager when they first got this fuel, 10% ethanol.
If you have the stock JDM maps then it will like this fuel.
What tune did do you have? Did you check your knock counts?

its true that the guys that work there have no idea, once when i filled the evo there i asked if they were putting in a pump for E85 any time in the future and he said; "no its 100 octane", the rest of the conversation wasnt any better

Im with Mark on this one, i had no dramas with this fuel and regularly filled up here for about two years. The previous owner when it was United was very cluey about his product and explained this fuel contained 10% ethanol to bring it up to the 100 octane. My back to back dyno runs were quite pleasing.
Since it has become Volume Plus (supplied by United), i must agree the new owner does not seem to have a clue. I would regularly call before heading out checking if it was available, yes were his words only to find it wasnt when i got there. And it was a 30 min drive.
Im so glad i have since retuned to 98 but have no hesitations in recommending this fuel. Prior to E85 i would regularly see track cars filling up here before heading out to Eastern Creek.

Interesting.
There was certainly a performance difference the opposite way for me. I'm wondering thou, if I got a old/bad batch, or could it be explained by the Evo switching between low/high octane fuel maps (higher end of the low octane map v lower end of the high octane map).
I'm just really curious as too how a such a small batch of 100RON is produced, does the owner do the mix himself ? I just can't see the petrol suppliers being wanting to supply in such small amounts.
Thanks for the help guys.
Mark@GTPumps
Jun 5 2011, 04:25 PM
Why do you assume small amounts? United make the fuel there are other service stations that have this.

I am not sure now we went through this a few years ago when it first came out I, maybe look on their web site or give them a call.
