OKAY PEOPLE IT HAS COME,

Literally years of R&D on this unit to make it happen.

numerous companies tried the BB thing and have tried and failed,
and yes I have seen the results of those who have come to the table and failed,

HKS has made this entirely on their own with specialist turbo groups to produce the
GT II 7460R series

This turbo will Rock,

Twin scroll design

BB Centre

HKS actuator

POWER: 460 ps which is pretty much 463HP

TORQUE: This looks serious.
53.9kg torque at 4400rpm

that will skin a cat more than 10 ways with change.

The sheer response of this turbo is from hard from 3k onwards.

Evos are designed as a fast entry fast exit machine hence why it dominates the circuit so well.

weap0n
Very cool! I look forward to reading more info.
Ryan@Just JDM
guys this got released lastnight.

and yes 2 orders have already been placed.

this will be a very very serious upgrade

and guess what no fancy wannabe colours either.

straight bolt on? and whats the damage? keen wink.gif

edit: oh i found out it was 200.000 yen should be under 3 k yeah? :p
eccentric
Wow, HKS is really late with this one. T3/T4 flange? Or stock frame?
Ryan@Just JDM
bolt on people,

to factory gear

remember this unit is bb unit totally different design, and alot of people tried but had massive surge issues,

i wuld say to make this turbo was not a cheap exercise.

looking at the actual figures of AR.70 on the front side would suggest decent size.

yes should be priced around 3-3200 depending what YEN does

but that is seriously cheap power if it plays out.
myevoix
looks good ryan,
make me want to change to another hahaha
clone
Just saw a dyno on this sucker smile.gif smile.gif

With these mods the results:

HKS GTII 7460R S.T.K.
HKS Racing Suction Reloaded
HKS Forged Pistons
HKS Fuel Upgrade Kit
HKS Connecting Rods
HKS Super Turbo Muffler (prototype)
HKS Camshaft + Valcon
HKS Metal Catalyser
HKS R-Type Intercooler
HKS F-CON iS
HKS Oil Cooler
HKS EVC 5

389.59HP @17.6psi
433.97HP @ 23psi
453.7HP @ 29psi

Peak torque is around 4000rpm or a bit earlier

Looks the goods alright! smile.gif

Ryan 460ps is equal to ~453hp
Stimsoni
Was there a link to the dyno graph. Will be interesting to see the characteristics of this turbo
Ryan@Just JDM
looking the goods i say............ thanks for the conversion.

I'm guessing these figures are at the fly. how does a stock turbo get over 250kw at 17psi (hopefully i've done the conversion correctly)
simple_lancer
Around 270kW at 17psi for a stock turbo and 300kW for the HKS, and yes that is definitely at the fly.
burnzy
looking at the specs it's pretty much a slightly smaller than gt3071 comp wheel with a td06sl2 turbine? sl2 turbine is 54/61, this one says 54/60, seems to be slightly bigger than 20g, 20g is 52/68 inducer exducer, this one is 52/74, same inducer, bigger exducer. for comparison HTA green is 54/73
Beeble
Hrmmm so approx 325-330kw at the fly at 25psi.
so, what, 270kw? 260kw?

what sort of drivetrain losses do people factor in with Evos??
As Troy said, looks very similar to a HTA Green, but with BB. And a HKS plaque. Nice smile.gif
burnzy
actually turbine side is alot smaller than the green. comp is slightly smaller. I'd rate it in between 20g and htagreen/bbk, cept we'll have to see what the BB does for it.
darky
depending on the dyno.....a stock evo IX will make anywhere btw 155-165 atw....and it makes 206 at the fly....so..........if i use 155...

Lose...25%
burnzy
turbine exducer of hta green is 65mm, this one is 60.

Yeah I normally use 25% aswell for 4wd cars.
which makes it 250awkw @25psi, give or take.

Should give the BBK / Gold a run for their money anyhow smile.gif
and BB wil help

250kw, isn't that impressive when on their dyno the stock turbo shows like 220kw.
250kw wouldn't really give a bbk it's run for it's money. bbk at 25psi would make about 270.

on the graph the stock turbo makes 420hp and the hks makes 460, thats only 40hp.
eccentric
^ Thats true, seen bigger gains with just E85 & 98
Edi-no-son
There's been talk about power, but what about responce?

How is the responce and when the turbo kicks in compared to the BBK?
burnzy
looks to spool same as stock, but till someone buys one we'll never know.
ziad
guys its BB core.. so obviously the response will be better than stock... on the dyno charts its obvious it spools lots earlier...... but see the fine print on the website.

QUOTE
Vehicles with mufflers or suction parts replaced for those of low resistance for improved response could suffer from surging
weap0n
The stock turbo results on that dyno graph are is just the stock turbo. However the rest of the car isn't stock. It has all of the bolt on and forged internals and is running well above stock boost. The dyno graph is just a result from swapping the turbo's on the same setup. A full list of the mods can be found on the HKS website.

So yes, it is very impressive.
burnzy
hmm.. 40hp fly gain from 2 bar boost with all those mods, is about 22kw gain, with all those mods a bigger turbo should give more gains than bolting it to a stock car.
weap0n
I think the point that has been missed, is that this turbo makes more power then the stock turbo and spools quicker too.

But people tend to focus on peak hp and not area under the curve.
burnzy
not at all, I'm not into peak power at all, hence my decision of smaller turbo/high boost/high octane, this looks like a great turbo , more choices the better, all depends on price though. Just not good to have people buying it for the wrong reasons thinking of big power gains and being disappointed.
Ryan@Just JDM
GUYS<

please take this else where or keep on topic okay,

i would rather steer away from the he said she said thread on which turbo is better the one with with blue fins and purple dots. or the green one with red dots.

and to answer a PM like mentioned in the post,

this turbo is a excellent repsone turbo it is not a high end turbo
DUSH
Mr Ryan, What's the Retail on one of these Units?

yeh seems i have wasted alot of money on a big turbo setup when i could have bought this smaller turbo which makes more power laugh.gif
ziad
Far out Guys you just jealous.
evo6.boy
Yep.... you got me... im very jealous of the impossible!!!
Uwish
It would be good to see the intake temp vs air temp.
That is the easiest way to see if it is genuine power
Rob
I'd like to know how much nitrous they're pumping in to get that number.
PyRoMaNiAc
darky
nice one jamie.....

the power is probably correct....
i had C&V tuned my car before as well.......

They tune the car to the limit...which is good i guess in some cases.

In the end i had to tune it again(wont say y) and if u guys know anything about timing( x degree's)
my timing came down by 30%
burnzy
lol.. run all the timing you like, it'll hit mbt, knock and start losing power on pump98 before it made 363kw.
ziad
sorry i have to ask/say and i do appologise to ryan, and if required please delete this post.

so ur tuner dropped the timing by 30%..... in that case and i am not passing judgement here, but two things

1) that is not tuning to the limit.... i wont even call it abusing the limit as that is purely criminal. and similar to the engine running 25deg at peak torque, would have resulted in a blown engine.

2) what about the poor knock sensor... do they turn it off????
