HKS have got your back with special formulated oils for your Evo,
Just had shipment of 60L of 4B11 engine oil
This oil is made totally for the Evo X 4b11
the amount of testing & R/D that has gone into this (as it should) it amazed me,
About the Oil
From what was explained to me they sit the engines on specialy designed tuning setup stands and Do everything from
Cold start
sit them at 9k for like 1min and then consistant reving for another min and then again redo the process 3 times.
Also adding loading ramps to make the engine labour.......
Drop the oil break down the motor to find out how things are going inside,
everything from bore wear to turbine wear and of course the consistancy of the oil.
HKS Oil The new Ester series for your 4b11
The 4b11 motor gets HOT really HOT-having an oil that can deal with the temps is required
oil is the blood of the car if it runs at a consistant temp you water temps stays cool too everything will smoother.
This actual oil is the oil used in the HKS time attack Evo X RS
running the new HKS turbo kit.
I have done personal testing with the 4g63 oil in the Evo 8 and i found previously
that the HKS delt with temps better than (please note testing was done using oil thermostat)
Motul
R/Purple
Mobile 1
Also i manged 2 days of trackwork out of the HKS oils
Click to view attachment4g63 oil is also available.
$109.00
and you got it instock

Not that I'm after some of this oil as I have a 4G63, but just a quick question; how much oil do you get for $109?
Cheers,

is there an API rating on this oil?
you mentioned synthetic? so is it full synthetic, semi synthetic or synthetic fortified?
will it void a factory warranty to use this oil?
what grade oil is it (picture posted is small)?
excuse the amount of questions...
Ryan@Just JDM
Aug 25 2009, 10:38 PM
This oil is designed for a X not the 6.
I will answer what i can -
as far as i know the API seal of approval is only in reference to oils made in the USA.
you mentioned synthetic? so is it full synthetic, semi synthetic or synthetic fortified?
Full syn
will it void a factory warranty to use this oil?
from what i am told any changes from factory void warranty.
unusre if air freshners apply as a mod-
what grade oil is it (picture posted is small)?
3.5 37
this is Evo X spec.
excuse the amount of questions...

I got my oil put in by Mitsu when they did the service, so if they try and pull any shit on me with regards to voided warrenty because of it, i'll just be telling them 'sorry, your service guys put it in, if they knew it would void warrenty they should not have done it' that should keep them honest

May I add that being an ester based oil, it would probably come under group V in the API rating

I can confirm that HKS deals better with temps compared to Motul 300V at least.
Been using 300V since the day I got my car and HKS runs at least 5 degrees lower than 300V most of the time. Had the last 3 oil changes using HKS oil with track usage.
This is based on Defi sensors though might not be completely accurate

Apr 4 2010, 08:54 PM
thanks, what were the actual temps?
eccentric
Apr 5 2010, 04:54 AM
Road driving
Motul 300V : 88-90
HKS: 80-85
Track:
Motul 300V: around 120
HKS: never above 115

how is this oil different from this oil:

Seeing as they only come in 4L tins, we need to buy two 4L cans for one 5L 4G63 oil change right?
Ryan@Just JDM
Jul 3 2011, 08:13 PM
correct,
however you then only need to buy 1 can in the future
can supply 200lt drum but yeah don't think it is a viable option

Is this oil good for E85 use?
Also can you get the 1L tins for the 4G63?
How much for a service pack (including filter) delivered to 2767?

Jan 1 2012, 04:39 PM
Hi Mike according to HKS website you can get 1L oil tin. Been using this for a couple of services without any dramas, but can't comment on e85. Bought it off a vendor here in Brisbane but no 1L tin for me

Now using HKS Super Racing oil as there was an offer while visiting HKS CT230R at GT Auto.

Yeh I know you can get the 1L tin just wondering if Ryan can lol
Looking for a change from my Redline 10W40 and since this is ment for the engine thought why not give it a shot. Oil change is due now
Ryan@Just JDM
Jan 1 2012, 07:56 PM
1LT tins are just not worth bringing in, the cost to get them in and to actuaally make something.
I have spoken to a few people in the states and very basic answer from Japan was they can't see an issue on why it would have an effect due to the car running at same or similar stress levels.
