Finally someone has done it.

Do-Luck Japan have finally released thier exciting new product, the D ACD-M aka Do-Luck Active Centering Drive Manager,

This is the ONLY controller in the world that allows DIY simple and instant changes to be made to your active diff control with instant and noticable changes to the handing of your Evo 7-9.

Does it damge your diff?

This doesnt damage your diffs, it changes how they react at different speed/G, i.e altering the diff map to suit your manual overides instead of allowing the car to decide. It will make your car more predictable in terms of how the centre diff is working. The principle is like your buttons for snow etc, the system is over ridden by what you tell the car it should be but with this device it enables you to choose a combination between settings manually to suit your conditions or desire.

Hows it work
The concept is nothing new in terms of modification, all rally and Evo race cars will have such a system, normally by Motec, Gems or HKS's own version which are very expensive and do not offer the same level of immediate device settings from your drivers seat although those systems ( particularly Motec ) are more advanced and complicated than this system of course.
Most require a full sit down session and reprogram.

Unless you spent alot of cash having any other system installed as above, you would not be able to take control as you can with the Do-Luck unit.

This runs on 3 settings.

STR-G SPEED - Vertical imput

CORNER SPEED/ Lateral G's

SPEED/POWER Imput.

The way this works is it requires the data from sensors through out the car.
actual speed, steering, cornering data is required it then draws an equation for how much or how little you have dialed into the system,

very simple very quick very good.

I suspect I will see many of these at the Evo nats this year as it can be dialed in for Motorkana, circut, dirt basicly what the driver likes.

LIKE TO OVER STEER AND HAVE THE TAIL OUT? .....DONE

PREFER A LITTLE UNDER STEER FOR STABILITY? ....DONE

This bad boy will take it all

To answer size question.
Being a compact size (W 8.75cm x H 2.4cm x D 5cm) making install easier.

Piggy Back-Yes
Using a piggy back style coupler, attachment to the vehicles wiring system

Colours?
*Precise controllability & Visibility There are three controls on unit, 'STR-G', 'CNR-G' & 'PWR-SPD'.
1. STR-G is the selector for Straight or Vertical 'G'
2. CNR – Gis the selector control for Cornering or Lateral 'G'
3. PWR-SPEED is the selector control for Power / Speed
All 3 selector controls have a indicator function to change colours from green to yellow, orange, and red in this order in response to the G input, to give a colours show a indication of current settings.

Thanks Ovi
El Presidente
will do come mid next week, giving one a work out on Wed. Should be good to see how it compares to the Motec unit.
precisionmick
It will be very interesting to see how it compares to the motec.

Im running the motec in my Evo and it is amazing! If I had my time again I would buy this instead of any other mod - but you do have to have it set up correctly for your driving style.

Keep us all informed.

Cheers

bit of a thread revival,

LTDAN
decided to take this on.

and took him alittle bit of time to work it out how to get the most out of it as he can't read Japanese and he had to get indy at IS to help him,
anyway,

Dan will give us a write up shortly
LT DAN
Im onto it...
REDEVOIX
very interested on the "real world" feed back on this
Ryan@Just JDM
i had a quick play with it but not to the extent that LT DAN did at wakefield.
LT DAN
OK,

First of all, im still doing a lot of testing with this.
But so far, I think its really good.
I have only been to Wakefield and and Eastern creek since its been installed.

So the installation in simple. Plug and play. It comes with a wiring harness to plug into the AYC/ACD ECU.
Theres three adjustment knobs.
The first is the speed. The controller will only work up to the max vehicle speed set.

The second is the cornering force. So this can be adjusted and it changes how much over/understeer there is.

The third is the straight line force, like acceleration and braking. Im not too sure how this alters things at this stage....

I want to do a skidpan or motokahna to see how it goes.

If you do go out on a skidpan/motorkhana Dan, lemme know.
I wanna see how it goes too.....
If it can turn our Evos into RWD cars, then i'll be laughing and not having to find a cheap RWD car to do those things in!! happy.gif
