If you have to ask, you cant afford it!

All though, in your case, that saying may not apply smile.gif

Will this fit my Rx7...personal joke to Nick!!

Tried and tested package, I know with that much power I would think they would include New APC Undies or maybe a pack there of!! Personally I am glad this is being offered and with that much power your looking at easy 9's in theory, though traction maybe an issue without slicks...
weap0n
Two words. OH SNAP!
Ryan@Just JDM
to answer a couple of questions from the members...

Yes this will land on your door as a full assembly and Motec will be set up with latest software.

yeah no joke i spent way more than this just building my 300kw motor wallbash.gif if you are looking at a stroker forget it and get this full set up its going to save you alot of headaches and stress believe me
Ryan@Just JDM
Funny you mention this Josh.

Ok simple math...

New block $4k
Stroker kit +forged crank 10k
New head 2k
Hypertune plen $3k
Head work and Block work 2k
Tuning 3k
Motec 5k
Cams + Gears + bits and pieces 3k
Injectors $1000
Turbo $2900
Manifold $2500

now this is very very basic numbers seriously you put the real numbers down and yeah it will be really scary
XEV08X
^^^^
what about the work on the head add another $5K

Np
I will shout a ticket to APC themselves,

and have a car ready to roll for you to be taken in

So cards are on the table.

Several cars on this forum use an APC race buit engine. They are proven in both fields of racing drag/circuit and even street engines. For this to be offered as a compete package is an unreal bonus and then to have the best tuning workshop in aus as backup makes it an even bigger positive..
I only wish i got my hands on the 2.4 sad.gif
weap0n
This is like a dream build. Drop in. Ready to go. Insane power!

I cant's wait to see the Show Me Your Ride threads once they are done.

I'm just glad APC isn't offering something like this for the EVO X or i would be filing for bankruptcy! laugh.gif

I run an APC motor not quite this spec but no far off it at 680hp fly (approx) all I can say is mine is very street drivable & a well sorted package, idles a treat, cold start as you would expect a little rough but no real drama's & crist it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.

Good on the guy that has already brought one & I am surprised they haven't all gone, one very well sorted engine that has hours & hours of testing & a proven package, Cam & I can prove that they work a treat & are race ready & reliable, I have done almost 10,000km on my engine on the street & heaps of track meets.

I was about to start a 2.3L build but this could be a more feasible option, can you PM me costs please??

Shit if Mark and Cam use this motor it's got to be "the bomb" after seeing Pres's car go around at SuperLap and this is the next step up from that OMFG this would be unreal on the track, I also heard a whisper of the price and it's dollar per HP is very good value considering what it comes with as a whole package tune and all. I think the three will go very quick.

Since having the engine I have run it at various power levels, I will give you a rough idea.

EC - 300kw's & first time there 1:47, expected time this year with 380kw's sub 1:45 (the locals reckon a 1:43 so no pressure, thanks Marek)
QR - 290kw's 56sec
Morgan Park - 290kw's 1:09
Bathurst - 285kw's & first time there 2:29
OP - 380kw's & first time there 1:16

& a couple of video's

OP 380kw's - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLRIbRkO-90

Bathurst 285kw's - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fi3fIPQzNPU...feature=channel

For the price these engines are those that hang about will miss out on a huge bargain, they are a very strong engine & built to take a lot more than they are making, with my build I jumped from 300kw's to 380kws (atw) & only had to change the cams & fuel set up to do so & the good thing is there is still more left in it I wish this option was around when I did mine but in saying that I am glad I got one of the first ones built & have already had 12 months of pleasure out of the old girl.

P.s. My engine is not the same spec as this one but is pretty dam close to it, mine is a 2.2L & I only run a baby 3065 turbo.

P.p.s. myself & Cam have given these engines heaps lately to give them a good field test, we also love a JD every now & again too hint hint
El Presidente
One thing I would like to express & totally agree with Ryan, if you think you can just go out & buy a 750hp engine slap it in your car & go for a drive think again, FFS make sure you know what you are doing & know how to drive a car with this sort of power, it is a huge step up form ya 240kw's flash tune but in saying that treat it & respect it as a 750hp motor & you will have to raise the level of good sex all over again.

^ A JD for a quick steer of your car??? SOLD ;-)

Captain40
Pres has been running a variant of this motor, as he has said, for well over a year now, with phenonminal results and reliability. There are a number of members on this forum running very very similar spec engines to Pres as well who actively track and drag race their cars on a regular basis.

My car has been the test muel for this exact setup and has the 2.4 crank in it. We have tried a couple of different turbo combinations over the past year but have found the combination I ran at Superlap, by far and away the best. Although the T67 gave pretty good results (387awkw or 507hp) the current GT35 based turbo provides so much more torque and power from lower down in the rev range.

At OP, I was on full boost by 4700rpm all the way to a self imposed red line of 8000 & it kicked me in the guts EVERY time. My in car footage was testiment to the fact that I was spinning all four wheels in 3rd gear at numerous corners at OP. We ran a very safe tune and just 26psi of boost at Superlap when the car had 439.1awkw (588hp at the treads). This engine HAS run over 30psi boost comfortably in the past & during R&D, and you guys can only guess at the sort of power levels we are talking here....

As Ryan has said, this package is incredible value when you consider the sum of the parts involved. Also, it has taken APC almost 3 years to perfect this package and ensure it's reliability BEFORE they hit the market with it.

Cheers Cam thumbsup.gif

doesn't spears need a new engine? no, wait, hide this thread, we'll never bloody catch him if he gets this!

Would I be correct in saying that the Cylinder head is the $6k race head that they quoted me a month or so ago?
I think it was the full works rebuild + port & polish...

It looks to be an impressive package!

Its a wonder only 3 are avail If its such a great cost option????
Ryan@Just JDM
Basicly looks like another unit sold.
1 left lads

also I asked what is used the tensioner area,

it is a custom mechanical setup not hydraulic

As you can probably appreciate there needs to be a significant investment or commitment made by APC to produce 3 of these puppies in a ready to go package. Think for a minute how much capital is invested in the 3 complete motors. I think that also shows the commitment of APC in regards to the fact that they are prepared to put together these 3 kits & effectively stock them on the shelves at APC for anyone to buy. There wouldn't be too many workshops out there who have the ability to do this & to me it shows how they are prepared to back their product.

It was more a case of testing the waters and assessing interest as to why "only" 3 were offered up initially. I would strongly suggest that if the demand was there, more would be made available.

I'm definately not doubting the engines reliability . my comment was just out pure jealousy that some people are able to have a setup like this to drive on the street. sad.gif laugh.gif biggrin.gif

not funny when some kiddy with heaps of cash & one of these engines, this is only going to equal an early end to a good car & or live/s.

Tim, all good mate, a straight answer for a straight question thumbsup.gif
oxymoron
I certainly hope there will still be something like this available when I have gotten bored the power from the green and I have learned how to drive
dragonfly
Shite - seeing Pres' vids gives me goose-pimples...simply shattering track ability.
This engine build-up sounds insane...but it also makes you think that with this kind of power, it should be mandatory for the would-be owner to have a suitable brake package and roll cage installed!!
