YOU NEVER WANT TO HEAR THIS....

THERE IS JUST NO MORE SPARK IN OUR LIFE ANYMORE....

Well if you hear this with reffering to your girl or car ..um your pretty much toast...

Well HKS can sort things out for that other special girl..

*************************************************
Direct from HKS JAPAN, something that 85% of the Evo timeattack cars have are one of these bad boys..

The HKS twinpower kit is a small box that connects into your factory ingnition system, These are complete unit and install time is approx 10min with brutal results.

The HKS Twin POWER....
It offers the Evo the best bang for the buck, with its ease of plug and play installation this unit will increase spark. This is a great unit for those wanting to run higher than 22psi of boost on the stock turbo. It is a prettty much a MUST have for cars running an upgraded turbo or an aftermarket engine management ecu that are having issues blowing out the spark.
The Twin Power ignition amplifier incorporates both the CDI and transistor method ignition to provide optimum spark duration and maximum voltage output, resulting in crisper throttle response and a smoother engine powerband.

HOWS IT WORK?

Fuel enters into the chamber then , when a plug fires it will send out a single charge- ignites the fuel and you have power.. the thing is when pushing hard, soemtimes plugs don't ignite the remaining fuel....
So HKS designed this ..it fires the plug twice and producing a stronger and heavier current so this means.. bigger spark ..bigger bang and better results.

COST $899 RRP

FACT:
SNOOZE YOU LOOZE....ONCE OFF PRICE .... you know the drill

yes to answer someone question.

Sorry for the stupid question but does this kit have the ability to input a signal to alter your timing for NOS etc. Ive been told some kits can do this, but im not sure if this one can?

Also whats the differences between this kit and say the Buschur Racing Coil-On Plug W/ BR Spec CDi. In terms of power and performance. At what point would you need to replace your coil packs i guess is the question?
Ryan@Just JDM
DR HAIRY,
This is the same kit you have on your car.

SHANE...
AS far as i am aware this would be controlled more do from the ecu rather than this particualr setup...
These are desigend as a direct plug into the factory system as an easy plug and play setup.
The Buschur system is a M&W which is Mark from GTPUMPS... well this kit is really completely different to Marks kit.

as this is an amp and twin sparking unit, where Marks unit is 4 point setup 1 to each plug...
The time to change coils is down to
A: if they need upgrading as the factory ones aren't too bad to a certain point, but when serious power is down thats when units like the M&W and the HKS DLI or Twin power come in handy .
dr hairy
thank you. car does run smoothly with it.
Ryan@Just JDM
so DR hairy ,

Nothing pasts a test unless it has goen through a DR Hairy test...so.....diaganosis

well the other day i decided to remove the unit and do a comparison test back to back. Now i havent changed my plugs for a while and noticed the car was a little rough going through the gears. Not as smooth through the rev range though., put the unit back in and the smoothness re-appeared.All the way to redline it climbed smoothly.
The unit does work. Now im only runing 210-230 kw so i dont have a prob at the moment with spark diminishng at high revs and boost, but for someone with mods that take them over 300+KW at the wheels this unit would be even more benficial. Worth the spend in IMHO. people will probably have mixed feelings on these but i can guarantee youll get more gains from this than installing a caron fibre gear knob :D
Ryan@Just JDM
all gone lads.

Thanks again mate, be good to see what differance this makes.
Ryan@Just JDM
GUYS I actually installed mine on the weekend and went for a blat god damn spank me harder...

these things work .... just don't touch the sharp end of the stick... it hurts
EVOlution
I think this may be the answer to my rough running problems - my car is running like a 1 legged chicken again.....

I'll start saving now so I can grab one if you get any more in stock.
Ryan@Just JDM
10 more on the way

Well, no smart arse remarks - this is bloody fantastic.

Fitted it, went for a drive with Ryan in the car - INSTANTLY NOTICEABLE CHANGE. The car idles smooth now, it idles at the right revs when cold (yes, you heard that right - my high idle problem is gone), the car just goes better all round.

Initial impressions:
Easy to fit - one bolt to mount, one earth clip-lug, plug in main harness to box, remove coil plugs and connect in series the wiring harness from the box to the coils/plugs. Dead easy. 10 minute job if you're a fussy bugger for neatness. (note: when I mention "plugs" I'm not meaning spark-plugs, I do mean electrical plugs)
Start car, smooth idle, no up-and-down idle - smooth, the very noticeable miss has gone, it's there, only ever so slightly.
The very first thing I noticed on my car was the much smoother acceleration - no more "build up to power" sort of acceleration like a long lag before the car felt like it was on power.
Top end just keeps going.
I wqas driving up a long hill at Berowra Waters, normally, out of habit, I change back from 6th to 5th part way up the hill to not labour the car too much.... well, I did this out of habit and the car just took off in 5th, I mean it just WENT. So I backed off, changed up to 6th and the car just drove up the damn hill with ease, not like it was super power or anything, but it didn't labour as much as it used to, and I KNOW that hill very well, I use that area a LOT for testing knock and engine loading etc at road speeds.

So, I will be testing it next week in the daily grind of traffic to and from work but if todays holiday crap traffic as I was heading home was anything to go by - bye bye bad traffic idle and near stalling as I creep in traffic. It performed faultlessly in the stop start dead crawl on the way home.

This unit is good, I can't say how much of a difference it will make to other peoples cars, but Ryan noticed something when he put it on his car, and it sure as hell made a difference on my car.
I'll take anyone for a run at meet-up's etc but I'm bloody sure this item works well.

Stay tuned - tomorrow I'm off to Oran Park and next week it's the daily dribble traffic shuffle.
Ryan@Just JDM
good to hear everything is ok ...how did we do in traffic this week with the new kit.

also i have 10 more sets on the way,
EVOlution
Update:
So far, in traffic, not bad, car is so much better I just forgot to notice anything laugh.gif It doesn't do the stalling thing anymore, although i do really think I have an AFM issue.
Driveability wise the car just goes like it used to - reasonably smooth, no bad missing and farting and carrying on anymore.

Oran Park..... I was told that someone thought they had let one of the old Group-B rally cars loose out the back from the sound that it made.
I went out for a play, nothing major I told myself.... riiiight 8)
Bang bang bang between gears, loud as sin and just went like I lit a rocket under it's arse (I think the car likes the race exhaust on there, hehehe, so do I  ), sideways wet or dry off the line on tarmac, plant the foot any where in the rev range (except close to the rev limiter) and it's "grab the seat with your arse, both hands on the wheel and stop dribbling" laugh.gif
Damn that was fun, with tyres that actually have good grip I might have been able to get proper drive out of corners, overall the power delivery was smooth and easier to control, with the amp off the car felt laggy almost - the power deliver felt like it was building up rather then just there on demand.
The exhaust note sounded a little subdued with the amp off but rather sharp or cracking with the amp on.

I do think this HKS Amp unit works very well. See how it goes with long term regular daily driving and some weekend jaunts out to the farm and regular runs around the property roads.

to day the JUSTJDM EVO had 1 instaled and made a massive difference on the dyno...

well worth it

how much diff in figures Ryan,, 5-10-15kw?

i knew these units made a difference, glad to hear you and Scott noticed the same. cant wait to get back home and have a blat in my car again, instead of drooling over ferraris porshes here in europe. laugh.gif

Bel managed a lovely 240 atw on 22psi
saying that it made it easier to tune as well.

What was the figure before the fitment?

Yea i would like to also know too as im thinking about one
Ryan@Just JDM
i had 220 before running a GT spec manifold

changed it put Tomei manifold on and HKS spark kit + new plugs

got 240+

Belgarage did the tune

Thats quite a significant gain smile.gif smile.gif

On the day, I drove up to Ryans, fitted this unit, we went for a drive and it was instantly noticeable to me the car was better - both quicker and a better behaved engine.
(ever the salesman, Ryan said he thought my car had more go than his.... awww shucks.... flattery laugh.gif)

I am now using one of these things too, haven't done a back to back to compare, but will do one day. Seems good enough.

THREAD MINE!!!

Well after a few issues with the harness not liking the car and ever helpful Ryan coming to the rescue the twin spark amp was fitted last night with instant results. I'm running 22.5psi on a 20G turbo and when i used to bang her through the gears espcially 4th, 5th and 6th the car would surge and generally not behave especially with the heat up here.

after whacking this baby in yesterday i went off sedately up through the streets to head out to a back road and even just driving like a nanna the throttle response was improved and she really comes to life on part throttle, pulling away from corners is a piece of piss and now every intersection is taken in 3rd on the roll sedately, it's like driving a diesel it's so happy at low revs.

got out to a back road and pulled through the gears up to 6th well, GOD DAMM FLOG ME AGAIN!!!! she just pulled through the gears like no tomorrow all the way to 6th got to a speed i shouldn't have and backed off, checked the AVC-R and i didn't even hit peak boost only got to 1.48kg/cm2 instead of the usual 1.61kg/cm2.

Great bang for your buck fellas and well worth it, another happy customer here mate. and the cam cover is in as well, shame i don't have to cams and associated hardware in yet.
Ryan@Just JDM
good to hear chief,

remember people

if you want to have a play with this let me know I will send out a test unit.
brownb_2
Finally got to put my unit in yesterday biggrin.gif

VERY VERY simple to put in, just one bolt and simple to plug wiring harness.

The car immediately after idol's better,,, usually when i come back into my driveway clutching my car will drop its idol to about 300rpm then come back up,
now when i come back in and clutch the car is absolutely fine, no shudder on coming back to idol.

The engine seems so much happier now, at idol and lower rpms.
But also at much higher revs as well.
Before when i put my foot down it was, "foot down . . . . . . . . go"
Now there is no hesitation coming onto power, its "foot down . . GOOO!"

Also my car use to blow smoke while hitting throttle in any gear,
Now with WOT in the appropriate gear she gets up and goes without smoking the car behind out (im not expert but that to me, means that my fuel is been burnt instead of not used ) biggrin.gif

Definitely recommend this unit, thumbsup.gif

Thanks Ryan biggrin.gif

Got any in stock Ryan?
Ryan@Just JDM
yep landed this morning
Diz
How much we looking at?
Bloo
Is this kit specific to Evos only or do they have a fitting kit and harness for different cars?
Ryan@Just JDM
putting them on special $899

special kits for special cars.
most kits have harness that will work with different cars
Ryan@Just JDM
ok guys 2 units left got hit hard today.
zaw
Hey Ryan, you still have any of these, and what are they going for now?
Also, what's the difference between the DLI and DLI II?
Ryan@Just JDM
not at this price,

which is designed for which car ans different cars require different loadings.
07EvoIX
got my kit today and installed it as well. i am podantic so it took me more than 10 min to install. That and i am slow as F*** when i do things whistling.gif

i will be taking the car for a dyno run soonish so we will see if there is any actual power/torque difference, but i didnt really feel anything different. Though when producing 200+awkw i dont think 5-10kw (if that) would be noticed. i am very confident i would get a better graph, but doubt any power/torque figure change

BUT what i can say is the following...

1) from the front of my palce to my normal braking spot got me an extra 20km/h when i reached that point. i was really surprised at that level of change!!! woot.gif
2) in the brief split second that i was able to look at the rev guage, i did notice that it did travel alot smoother and all the way to redline
3) popping at redline changes is completely gone
4) although i didnt really cruise around, i did notice a little change at low rev acceleration. will test more when i drive to work next
5) car idles alot smoother. confirmed with the turbo timer digital rev guage
6) doesnt blow smoke or anything for that matter when redline revving in neutral (i know shouldnt do it, but meh). i mean my garage door is still COMPLETELY clean and the exhaust is literally 20cm away from it
7) although no one ever mentions this, but i even noticed the heel/toe braking was much better. felt smoother and even stopped better. the extra 20km/h from point 1 and the car still stopped in the exact same distance. yeah i know, you never really change up or down gears exactly the same every time and braking is no different, but i am sure that when you drive the car everyday, you notice a difference in these things regardless

so that is my feedback for everyone

all in all, other than a dyno run, this is an awsome piece of kit. I even think this would get you slightly better fuel economy albeit .2L/100km tongue.gif

cheers
