Evo 7~9 Air Box; MATT dry carbon finish $399 plus freight

Recommended Posts

KEEP your evo road legal with a fully covered airbox, as stock design but for an open pod install with the very important ram inlet part too!

NEW DRY CARBON MATT FINISH! NOT just a different look, but LIGHTER too!
(This is a 1x1 carbon weave, a smaller than the usual 2x1 carbon weave)

$399 plus courier, HUGE BOX; 70cm x 40cm x 35cm, very light but couriers will charge by volumetric weight of about 22kg!!!!!

Option to add MAP adaptor for 4.5" pod for just $55.
Option to add MAP adaptor for 4.5" neck and K&N Chrome top open pod for just $105.

OR Option to add MAP adaptor for 4.5" neck and Amsoil Nanotechnology Dry Open top Open pod for just $160.

Top section is finished in Matt Dry Carbon Look and the other parts are just black finish sheet fiberglass.

Cheers, ivan

this might be a stupid question, but ive driven a car with a hks pod only (not enclosed) and the induction noise is stupidly loud.

would putting it in a box like this reduce the induction noise?

No question is stupid man!

It take a MAN to ask the question, much lesser to just assume.

ANYWAY......YES, this will block out a fair bit of INTAKE noise, almost as stock box, except it is more open towards the headlight.

Always ready for any questions.

Cheers, ivan

I have a mate with one (the old batch, not this new batch), fitment is good. He was using Ivans intake pipe with a generic filter

Ivan > if you need a test mule for fitment give me a buzz and we can take some snaps

High quality finish that weighs just 1.218 kg, the whole airbox.

The removeable cover weighs just 243g!

Looks incredible!! Ivan how is the fitment between the bonnet and the ram inlet? I know some manufacturers put a dimple to avoid contact.

A thick cardboard box is used to protect this CF Airbox, measure 70cm x 40cm x 30cm.

So, just made the volumetric weight for Auspost at 22kg!

Couriers Please is what I use most, but do have their limits when it comes to country areas.

Can confirm the fitment of the box is excellent.

Finish of the mould is very good also.

Thanks for the positive comments.

Yes, these are Made in Taiwan by a premium CF company.

Fitment will depend on the aftermarket coolside pipe used and type of open pod and maf adaptor too.

Does anyone know what is required to make the box fit with a Plazmaman silicone intake and 4.5" ID K&N pod (#RF-1005), or equivalent?

Does the hole in the box need elongating or enlarging, or both?

Photos of fitment / mods would be awesome!

Thanks all.

I don't have photo but fitment is good, enlarge the hole a bit but was easy job. I run Plazmaman intake but with different filter.

Once u have all the parts ready u will figure out.

I like the look of these!

Would there be a noticeable improvement over the standard intake setup ?

Hi,

At standard power, not much difference.

But once you start increasing the engine power, especially over 230kw, more air will be needed, and an open pod will certainly help.
