EVO9 TME turbochargers! *SOLD OUT*

Recommended Posts

Mark - whats the reasoning behind not upgrading the comp wheel to a 20G?

If you increase the flow by a reasonable amount on the compressor end it stands to reason the extra air also has to get back out somewhere. This somewhere is the exhaust wheel :)

Typically a given exhaust wheel will tolerate a range of compressor wheel and housing combinations however in the case of the EVO4-9 turbo just fitting a 20G compressor wheel does not work very well, there are gains in the mid range but the top end is not very good.

Just because it's for sale in the US doesn't mean it works as a guy who contacted me recently found out

We use the true Mitsubishi style 6 blade wheel, same as the stock 16G6 wheel.

Hi,

sorry about the other thread just seen this one ...

I hear the EVO9 TME turbo is better than the RS, it may not spool as quick, but can take much more punishment .....

is this true ???

When will this turbo be in stock?

Do I need the fitting kit for a EVO 7?

Cheers.

The magnesium compressor wheel can fail with polonged high boost usage. The EVO9 TME turbo uses the standard aluminium compressor wheel.

When will this turbo be in stock?

Not sure whenever I can get some at the right price again.

Yes you need a fitting kit for EVO4-8.

Depends what level you what to take the car to. However the EVO9 "TME" turbo would be an excellent upgrade for a EVO7.

Not really no. If your turbo is in good condition only benefit will be the bigger compressor housing so maybe a bit more flow (if im correct). If your turbo is on its way out then yeah a new turbo would do wonders regardless of what it is.

Oh and as for stock turbos i think the 9RS would be the best on to have.

Stick with the TME turbo only minor gains going to the EVO9 turbo.

Could I build one of these by changing to an evo9 comp cover on my evo8mr rs turbo? Also would the 9 core fit the 8mr comp cover?

No the EVO9 centre bearing housing is different (bigger diameter) where the compressor housing attaches. So you need a EVO9 centre bearing housing, EVO9 compressor housing with compressor outlet pipe and EVO9 actuator.

Maybe when the FX is so good he can get both 2 for the price of 1

Rooted turbos with the parts you need still in good condition must be hard to come by as there looks to be alteast 3~5 guys keen on these.
