  5. Hi all, Below is a brief description of a few of our pads, plus an offer to all members in the lead up to the Challenge on April 13. (Not restricted to competitors of this event) Brake Pad Types B-Spec: Project Mu B-Spec Sports Pad is designed to improve the overall braking performance of any street vehicle. The B-Spec pad is developed for street and light track use where initial stopping power and resistance to fade is of prime importance. In addition to reducing brake dust and squeal, these long-lasting pads help keep rotor wear to minimum. *With good friction and temperature capabilities, this is a cross-over compound suitable for street and light track use. If you don’t want to change pads for the weekend and don’t feel the need to set the World alight at track days, this is the pad for you. Members price $217 per front set, $202 per rear set HC+: Project Mu HC+ (Hyper Carbon +) is mainly used in Street, Race and Rally conditions. HC+ is more aggressive than B-Spec, and has excellent fade resistance. Capable of operating at temperatures up to 800°c, this pad will handle most serious applications whilst offering excellent driver feel and control. *This pad will be ideal for 90% of the field at any track day competition. HC+ is highly capable on both street and track with cars not using full racing slicks. Members price $315 per front set, $292 per rear set H16-03: Project Mu H16-03 is a premium race pad only and not suitable for the street. This is the pad we use on V8 Supercars and is chosen by half the field from the control brake list. Also a popular pad with Production class competitors due to their very high temperature capability (880°c) and friction levels. This is coupled with excellent driver feel / pedal modulation. *H16-03 is only for the very serious competitors amongst you… Members price $440 per front set, $343 per rear set

  8. Some of you will have heard about Project -Mu brakes due to your association with Japanese products.. For those not sure about who we are.. Project-Mu are a specialist manufacturer with a focus to provide the best quality product for specific areas in the street and race performance brake arena. Well known inside Japan, Project–Mu are quickly becoming recognised as a World Class brake manufacturer that has been a ‘well kept secret’ outside Japan! Not anymore…From EOM street replacement pads and discs, to performance brake kit upgrade kits right through to world class motorsport pads, all products are manufactured in the Project-Mu plant in Ibaraki, Japan. The Project-Mu factory has five 400tonne and three 100tonne press machines for the manufacturing process and also has two purpose built brake dyno’s for testing and evaluation purposes. In Australia, Project-Mu pads are included on the V8 Supercar ‘control brake list’ due to their wide spread use when the market was ‘un-controlled’. The both 2007 and 2008 (Evo!!), the Bathurst 12-hour race was also won using Project-Mu pads and again the cars went the entire race distance without needing a pad change. Another example of the specialist nature of Project-Mu is the D1 drift pad produced for the rear of drift cars to give the addition performance required. Project-Mu brakes are also supplied into Rallying, Production Car Racing and to Endurance competitors with great success. Here in Aus, we at Racer Industries are the Australian distributors for PMu. We also supply many other performance and race brands and products so check us at www.racerindustries.com.au If you have any queries about PMu, get in contact with me and I'll be happy to help.
  9. Yes, still getting used to using the forum... not really a computer person and am feeling my way a little.... :? No worries at all, let me know what you'd like to do when you're ready. Are you running on the day?? If so, dont forget about the draw to win the Performance Box! ... but you must be running our pads front and rear. All the best, Marty

  11. Hi Manny, I replied but I think I PM'd you..? Anyway, B spec is a good pad for the rear when using HC+. Temp ability is 500deg so no worries there. Friction is lower than HC+ so probably more balanced. However, we have used HC+ in F & R with no issues in the past so it depends on your driving style really. Probably the best option for 90% of track day cars is HC+/B Spec.
  12. Hi Manny, The HC+ has worked very well in the past in front and rear together. Having said that, you are correct to say the B Spec is less agressive than HC+ so it depends on your driving style. The B Spec pad is definitely a good rear pad - particularly when the car is being used primarily for street use. Marty

  14. Hi all, Just got back to pc and have looked at thread.. Greg, H16-03 is definitely overkill for anyone just out for some serious fun at track days - for this I'd recommend HC+. H16-03 is purely a race pad and has very high fade resistance. Having said that, HC+ is also very capable in temp. To me, this is critical as road car brakes dont cool very well so can be harder on the temp ability of a pad than race cars a lot of the time. Ferodo also make excellent pads and you hit the nail with your comparo - HC+ is similar in performance to DS2500 but with more temp ability. Ditto for H16-03 and DS3000. This is speaking in very general terms obviously! Glad to hear some positive experiences 'out there' and I look forward to Marek's feedback. Marek - if you need to call me about bedding etc, feel free - 0404 02 3535. I will post some info on rotors today. Brendan - Will also post info / deals on other Racer Industries gear including Performance Box. Make sure you ask for me when you come in to work! As for Promo girls, I cant make any promises.... but what a great idea!
